BC’s mandate to be net-zero energy-ready by 2032 has significantly shifted the approach to building and renovating homes.

Twin Lions is a certified Net Zero Home Builder and Renovator serving Metro Vancouver, with several completed Net Zero projects under our belt (including the first Net Zero renovation on the North Shore).

Our Integrated Design Process involves architects, energy consultants, engineers, municipalities, and environmental consultants in order to meet (or exceed) the high standards required to qualify for Net Zero certification. This gives our clients the confidence to trust us with their projects, and allows us to tap into the expertise of various specialists.

What is a Net Zero Home?

For a home to be labelled “Net Zero”, it must meet the following criteria:

  1. It produces as much clean energy as it consumes annually, using on-site renewable energy systems.
  2. It has been designed and constructed for optimal energy efficiency and cost.
  3. It features extra insulation, high-performance windows, and excellent airtightness to minimize heating and cooling needs.
  4. Appliances, lighting, and mechanical systems are all as energy-efficient as possible.
