Welcome to our Oakwood Project, a heartfelt transformation of a 1958 post-war rancher for a special client: our very own HR & Office Manager, Kim! Thoughtful design and purposeful choices have reimagined this modest home into something entirely new—beautiful, warm, and filled with character.
From the street, the difference is striking. The red brick that once defined the exterior has been replaced with fresh concrete pathways, a welcoming garden space, and bright new windows that flood the interior with natural light. Even the bay window was expanded, opening the home up to the surrounding landscape and creating a connection between indoors and out. A new roof and building envelope ensure this home is resilient to the elements for decades to come.
Inside, every corner was considered. The kitchen and dining areas were opened up by removing obstructive cabinetry, raising beams, and installing expansive sliding doors that lead to the garden—turning the main living space into a hub for gathering and entertaining. Heated radiant floors, new insulation, and a brand-new on-demand tankless water heater make the home comfortable and energy efficient.
The transformation of the primary suite is a standout. What was once limited space is now a generous retreat, complete with an ensuite where the laundry room used to be. Other bedrooms were reconfigured to feel larger and more inviting, ensuring the entire family benefits from the reimagined floor plan.
And of course, the details make the difference. From custom millwork that brings personality and warmth to new trim, doors, and windows throughout, this project embodies our passion for craftsmanship. As Kim herself said when she saw the finished result: “It’s rad.”
Our Oakwood Project is a testament to what’s possible in a smaller space with creativity, care, and attention to detail.
